All dressed up

My cousin Matt got married in Cleveland this past Saturday and Miss Alexis got all dressed up and went with us. Ian stayed with Aunt Heidi, which I'm sure was much more fun for him, although he did go to the reception for a little bit. So, anyways, here she is in her cute new dress that I'm sure we'll wear to a couple more events this summer as well.

Our weekend at the Lake

We spent this past weekend at our family's lake cottage in Indiana and unlike last month when we went, I actually got pictures this time. Ian loves the water of course and couldn't wait to get in as soon as we walked out to the lake. Here he is in his shorts because he couldn't even wait until we got his swimsuit on. Next time we're just going to come with him wearing it I guess...

I dipped Alexis in the lake once but she was more content to sit on the shore in her Bumbo and watch her brother. She also liked sitting at the end of the dock with me watching boats go by...

When Ian finally got his swim trunks he had a lot of fun floating around on a new inflatable thing my mom just bought, running up and down the dock and jumping off the dock too...

So, overall it was a great trip to the lake and we can't wait to go back again in a couple of weeks. We did miss seeing our cousin Kim though and we hope she had a great time in California and has a really fun time in Austria!! (We did see Uncle Mike, Aunt Rae and Carol and they let us know what a fan you are...hehe!!)

Our Wagon

As I mentioned in a previous blog, we got the kids a wagon last month and they love it. It's so fun to take them for walks in it around our neighborhood and it will be great for trips to the Zoo and other places this summer. The funniest part is that it has a little door and I keep trying to get Ian to use it but he seems to prefer the Dukes of Hazard method of getting in and out of the wagon...oh well. Now we just need Daddy to come home so he can pull it instead of Mommy..haha!!

Some more tub fun

The kids took baths separately the other night so I got some pictures and a video of Alexis having some fun. Their bath has the shower head that is attached to a hose so it's really easy for me to rinse them off. Ian thinks it's hysterical when I spray him with it and Alexis has discovered how fun it is to try to catch the water...

Another fruity outfit

Because you all loved the watermelon butt dress so much, I just had to get pictures of Alexis in her outfit today....with a pineapple butt!!! Girls clothes are absolutely the best and especially the summer ones!! She's like my little doll I get to dress up every day!! Haha!!

Our tiny oasis

With the wonderfully warm weather we've been having it was time to get the pool out. Yes, it's a small pool but it's really easy to fill up and really easy to dump out when we're done with it for the day. Besides, it's not like Ian and Alexis are needing to swim laps or anything. I also really enjoy sticking my feet in it.
And again, the Bumbo comes in handy...Alexis can chill in that while Ian acts crazy and he won't knock her over. Ian's favorite activity in the pool is to dump the bucket or sprinkling can full of water on himself. He then sometimes puts the bucket on his head. Alexis just hangs out and catches whatever toys (most of them borrowed from the bathtub) float her way. Oh, and she's not naked in that Bumbo...she's got cute little pink flamingo swim pants on. We've got some other cute bathing suits you might see later this summer...

Double Trouble in the Tub

Now that Alexis can sit up pretty well on her own I've started to bathe the kids at the same time. Ian doesn't seem to mind, although he sometimes likes to try to knock her over. My mom also got us a Bumbo so we use that sometimes too....Ian seems to think she's in a boat though and tries to push her around in it...it's pretty funny.

Fun in the yard

Unlike Ian, Alexis does not mind being in the grass. Ian's getting better about it, but when we first moved East and he sat in grass for the first time he was not happy about it. So, while Ian was riding around in the Cozy Coupe one day and my mom was pulling all my weeds, Alexis and I were hanging out in the lawn.

MY car

Most toys Ian is willing to share with Alexis. There are even some that he has designated as "baby's" so if he comes across them he will give them to her. His cars, however, are off limits as well as Grinch and a select few other things. So, I took this video (again, mostly for Brian's benefit) to show what happens when he finds out she's touching his stuff. Daddy will be back just in time to help referee. :o)

Ian's new ride

I know I just bought the kids a new wagon (which I'll have to get pics of too) but I saw this at a used kid's store and just had to get it. Ian loves cars and especially likes the big ones at daycare that he can get in, so what the heck. He's still trying to get the hang of the Flinstones-style driving but mostly he just loves to sit in it and turn the key or honk the horn. Anyways, we should have fun with it this summer and when Alexis gets big enough to drive it too they can fight over it....haha!

P.S. This stupid pacifier will hopefully be gone soon...Ian's got a few more teeth coming in which he likes to have it for but Alexis doesn't use one and generally if we don't have them sitting around Ian doesn't seem to notice that he "needs" one. I'm just looking forward to pictures without them. Ha!
