Easter

I know I'm a week late but here are some Easter pics finally. A few days before Easter we decorated eggs with Grandma Sheila. Ian had fun but thought the eggs were balls and therefore was more interested in throwing them (thank goodness they are hard boiled). He did a good job painting them though.

On Easter day they enjoyed lots of toys and cookies (and by they, I mean Ian). His favorite toy was a little toy Mustang that Grandma Jane and Grandpa Pat sent...it's exactly like our big one. He is very into cars and trucks lately so he tries to take it everywhere with him. Next year when Daddy is back we'll try hunting for eggs.

Flat Daddy

Here's a cute video I took of Ian with "Brian"...it's the Flat Daddy we got and adhered to a piece of cardboard. Ian seems to really like it. He is very big into pointing out body parts when I say them so we sometimes use Daddy to learn...ha! He is also very fascinated by the fact that Daddy has a hat on. We leave Daddy by the stairs and then say goodnight and give him kisses every night before bedtime....awwww....it just makes me melt.

Bathtime

I was having some fun with Ian's hair in the bath the other day and took this picture. He keeps trying to drink the bathwater from this cup I use to rinse him off with so I'm constantly having to put a stop to it....ha! And his new fun thing to do is escape as soon as I've dried him off and then run around naked laughing hysterically until I catch him.

Down South

Well, I finally stopped talking about it and just got the kids in the car and drove to South Carolina to see our friends the Thrailkills. The car ride there and back was about as perfect as you can get with two kids under two. I learned several lessons from a previous trip to New York and was well prepared. Alexis slept the entire way there and back and Ian was content to play with the toys that I placed around him. We only made one 45 minute stop each way for gas, food and diaper changes. That's right, folks...if it wasn't for the stops I would have beat Mapquest's time by 45 minutes. Ah, road trips....
Anyways, we had a great time on our visit. It was so cute to see all the kids together and hang out like we used to. Thank goodness I had just gotten my passport renewed though...you really do need one to go down there (Sweet Home Alabama, anyone??)

Great Wolf Lodge

Monday and Tuesday of last week we went to the Great Wolf Lodge with Grandma Sheila. It's an indoor waterpark and hotel in Sandusky (about an hour from us) and we had a great time....Ian most of all. There were waterslides, hot tubs, a lazy river and a bunch of other pools that had activities in them but we spent most of our time in the littler pool of course. As you can see Ian absolutely loved the little slide. He only wanted to go down face first and didn't mind at all when he went underwater or water was dumped on his head. I think ten different people asked me how old he was and seemed to think I was a little crazy for letting such a little kid run around in a pool or go down a slide without holding his hand....but that's our little Mr. Independent.....does everything his own way just like Daddy....haha!

Ian was most excited by this big bucket that would fill up with water and then dump about every 10 minutes or so. A bell would sound before it dumped and he would just start yelling "Go! Go!"

Alexis went in the pool once but she was more content to just hang out on the side and watch everything around her. This summer she can hang out in the water some more.
